Miriam Ileana (Seander) Welte, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, died suddenly on Feb. 17, 2016, in London, England. She was 59 years old.
Born July 3, 1956, in Newport, to Joan Vaughan Seander and E. Graal Seander (deceased). Ileana resided in many places throughout her life, including Massachusetts, California, Florida, Germany and most recently,England. She attended Newport public schools and graduated from North Kingstown High School in 1974 after moving to Jamestown. Ileana continued her education at Salve Regina University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
Until her untimely death, Ileana was the president and chief marketing officer for Big White Wall in theUnited Kingdom. Her passion was providing healthcare through technology.
Ileana leaves behind an international community of friends and family that were lucky to have known her. She will be deeply missed by all, especially by her husband Russ Welte and by her daughter Rachel Welte of London. She is also survived by her mother, Joan Seander of Jamestown, her brother and sister in-law, Michael and Mary Seander of Cranston, her sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Jack Hamilton of Warwick, her nieces, Marisa Seander, Ilise Hamilton and Gillian Hamilton, her nephew, Michael Seander Jr., and her great-niece, Brielle Xavier.
Her vision for a better world will stay with her family forever.
A funeral service was held in Slough, England. A private memorial service in Rhode Island will be held in the future.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a favorite charity in Ileana’s name would be appreciated.
